It’s been a chilly old Winter but Spring is finally in the air! Spring Scarf ’17 Dinners will run on Tuesday nights at Auction Rooms from 26 September – 21 November. We’re so excited to be partnering with the legendary folks at this renowned North Melbourne venue – you’re probably familiar with their very strong brunch game, but wait until you see the dinner menu they’ve put together for Scarf! The fabulous Auction Rooms kitchen team will be doing the cooking on the night, and they’ve created a delicious two course set menu (entree + main with choice, $45 per person). Entrees include Crab and sweetcorn risotto and Fried haloumi, peach, asparagus, mint. Mains include Pressed lamb shoulder, tomato, basil, fiore di latte and Teriyaki salmon, soba noodle, edamame and sesame salad. There are tasty vegetarian options in each course, and we can also cater for vegans – just advise of any dietary requirements upon booking.
We’ve recruited a new group of eight front of house trainees who are keen to bust into hospitality jobs, and they can’t wait to get started at Spring Scarf Dinners. The Scarf trainees will be supported by our awesome volunteer mentors (hospitality professionals) to build their knowledge, skills, confidence and networks, whilst engaging in paid work experience during Scarf Dinners at Auction Rooms. Scarf trainees are young people seeking protection and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds who are facing barriers to work. Spring Scarf ’17 mentors come from some of Melbourne’s best venues, such as Cumulus Up, Market Lane, O.MY and Garden State Hotel.
As a diner, you’re a hugely important piece of the puzzle, helping the trainees get the all-important paid work experience they need to practice their new skills, grow their confidence and land themselves a great job! Your part is easy… and tasty!
As always, we’ll offer a fabulous drinks list thanks to generous support from Punt Road Wines, Little Creatures, The West Winds Gin, STARWARD Whisky, Casa Mariol Vermut Negre, Daylesford & Hepburn Mineral Springs Co, Vertue of the Coffee Drink and Larsen & Thompson tea. Please note Scarf Dinners are not BYO.
